Forza Soccer Academy provides age-appropriate player development programming designed to help athletes build skill, confidence, game understanding, and a lasting enjoyment of soccer.
Forza operates an academy-based development model rather than a traditional league-team model. Our primary focus is consistent, high-quality training. Academy registration does not require tryouts, and players are welcome to train with Forza whether soccer is their primary sport, they also play with another soccer organization, or they participate in other sports and activities.
Our U7–U13 grassroots programming emphasizes individual development, meaningful play, decision-making, physical literacy, teamwork, and belonging. Training uses age-appropriate, game-based activities and small-sided games to maximize player involvement, touches on the ball, creativity, problem-solving, and opportunities to make decisions in realistic soccer situations.
Forza supplements its training environment with age-appropriate competitive opportunities, including exhibition games, festivals, and sanctioned tournaments where available. These opportunities allow players to apply their learning in meaningful game situations and complement—not replace—our training-first approach.
The U7 program introduces players to soccer in a fun, active, and supportive environment. Our priority is helping young players enjoy the game while developing confidence moving with and without the ball. Players learn primarily through play, exploration, game-based activities, and frequent interaction with the ball.
Key areas of development include:
A positive early experience provides an important foundation for continued participation and a lifelong relationship with soccer and physical activity.
The U9 program builds upon the foundations established at U7 while maintaining a strong emphasis on enjoyment, individual skill development, and confidence with the ball. Players encounter increasingly varied game situations that encourage them to make decisions, solve problems, and develop their agility, balance, coordination, and soccer skills.
Key areas of development include:
At U11, players continue refining their individual technical skills while developing a stronger understanding of how those skills are applied within the game. Training remains player-centred and game-based, providing players with frequent opportunities to make decisions, solve problems, cooperate with teammates, and express themselves creatively.
Key areas of development include:
Our goal is to develop capable and confident players while continuing to foster enjoyment, curiosity, and a strong connection to the game.
At U13, players apply increasingly refined technical skills within more complex and realistic game environments. Training emphasizes the continued development of individual ability while helping players understand attacking and defending principles, positional relationships, teamwork, and decision-making.
Key areas of development include:
Our player-centred approach encourages creativity, confidence, and enjoyment while preparing athletes for increasingly complex soccer environments. Forza also recognizes the value of participation in other sports and physical activities as part of healthy, well-rounded athlete development.
As players progress beyond U13, Forza’s programming builds upon the technical, tactical, physical, mental, and social foundations developed during the grassroots years. Training environments become increasingly complex while remaining centred on individual development, meaningful learning, and enjoyment of the game.
At U15, players build upon an established technical foundation and begin working more extensively with the tactical and team-based complexities of the game. Training challenges athletes to understand how individual decisions, positional responsibilities, and relationships with teammates contribute to effective team play
.
Key areas of development include:
Players are encouraged to take increasing ownership of their development while maintaining the creativity and enjoyment that support long-term participation in the game.
The U17/U19 program provides an advanced development environment for athletes seeking to refine their game within increasingly complex and competitive soccer environments. Training expectations increase as players develop a deeper understanding of tactical concepts, positional responsibilities, game management, and the demands of 11v11 play.
Key areas of development include:
For players interested in pursuing soccer beyond the youth game, this stage also supports preparation for senior, university, college, and other competitive opportunities.
